City dwellers in nearby urban centers are wise to the charms of Lake Geneva, an inland lake close to montains frequented by sun-bathers in summer and skiers in winter.
Much of this equestrian trail follows along the banks of the South Fork of the Flambeau River, which offers open vistas and opportunities to view wildlife.
The trail is peaceful, relatively flat and goes through several different forest types including pine plantations. Smith Rapids Campground is located towards the center of the trail providing a good place for horse riders to use as a starting place for day trips.
