An emerald island studded stretch of Lake Superior known as the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore teases boaters, paddlers, hikers, and even snorkelers with possibility.
2300 acre park on the bluffs overlooking Lake Pepin, a natural widening of the Mississippi River. Park is known for it scenic overlooks, trails, and bird watching opportunities. Camping available in some form or another year round. Picnicking, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and a sledding hill. Park is very busy on weekends May through October, but relatively quiet during the week.
